Hidden Beneath This Abandoned Mall Is Something Truly Extraordinary.

This abandoned building used to be a mall in Bankok, Thailand, before it went bankrupt.

A fire destroyed the roof, which led to flooding.

Now look who lives here…

The abandoned mall was forced to close in 1997.

We begin our creepy descent…

Located in these murky waters…

… are thousands of koi fish.

Local shops sell fish food for tourists to throw in, but tossing in anything else is banned in order to protect the fish.

What a very strange, urban pond…

While the water is quite dirty, koi fish are notoriously resilient… not only do they do well, they actually thrive in these waters. Share this beautifully bizarre story by clicking below.
